Kitchen Refinishing

Make Your Kitchen New

Tired of how your kitchen looks? Is it looking old and tired and in need of a refresh? Is the investment for a new kitchen looking overwhelming and out of reach? Changing the way your kitchen looks should never mean throwing everything away and starting again. Of course, you made a significant investment many moons ago so why should you do that again?

Your kitchen is a very important and busy area in your home. Overtime as a result of constant use, heat from cooking or the oven, wear and tear, the kitchen doors and cabinets start deteriorating. Before sending your bruised, battered and outdated kitchen units into oblivion, note that we offer a great option through our excellent kitchen refinishing service.

As leaders in kitchen renovation in the Hertfordshire area, we will transform and extend the life of your kitchen units.

Kitchen Refinishing vs Kitchen Replacement

We acknowledge that replacing kitchen cabinets may seem straightforward compared to the refinishing process which may be unfamiliar to most people. Replacing your kitchen cabinets seems easy as you only need measurements to order the new units and arrange for the installation. The old units get taken out by your kitchen fitter and the new units are installed.

However, the kitchen refinishing process is not complex at all. Refinishing kitchen cabinets can change the look of your cooking area similar to changing the kitchen tiles or the kitchen colour schemes. You can keep the existing kitchen design and units and at the same time transform them into something more modern and make savings on the replacement cost.

Kitchen Refinishing Process

Our kitchen refinishing service will transform your kitchen making it look new at very competitive prices with minimal disruption in your home. Kitchen doors or cabinets can be stripped and re-lacquered giving it a new lease of life with stunning outcomes. This should save you a fortune as it is cheaper than replacing the whole kitchen.

Refinishing your kitchen cabinets will take a few days depending on the scope of work and the size of the crew. From our experience, most kitchen refinishing projects do not last more than a week. The kitchen units are not completely stripped as happens in kitchen units replacement, so you will have access to your kitchen amenities like fridge, cooker etc.

However, while work is being done, you are advised not to cook as this may delay the process.

The process involves:

  • Removing contaminants, grime from your cabinets, grease and then lightly sanding the surface
  • Next is to give the cabinets a new colour or match the existing colour depending on preference.
  • Finally, protect the cabinets with an ultraviolet [UV] finish that lasts for many years.

Kitchen Refinishing Cost vs Kitchen Replacement Cost

Refinishing is cheaper and quicker than replacing your kitchen cabinets. Estimates show that refinishing is about a third of the cost of replacing the units. These are massive savings that could be put towards other things that will improve your kitchen like newer worktops or appliances.

Note that structural issues to your kitchen, major water damage and split doors cannot be fixed by refinishing. In this situation, you will need to replace the cabinets outright.

At T Brown Polishing Ltd, we have a team of highly trained kitchen refinishing experts that have successfully delivered multiple projects. If you are concerned or unsure of any aspect of the process, our team are on hand to answer your questions.
